I love the pride your dad had in you & your work. He was your biggest fan. My daddy was like that too & probably what I miss the most about him. Being a little girl from podunkville whose family was rife with mental illness & bootleggers, having a proud daddy can help build your confidence & self-esteem immensely. Something all little girls need to survive this (sometimes) cruel world.
I’m thankful for your dad & all that you give to the writing world. You’re a world treasure, Janisse! Can’t wait to read your latest gift to the world.
Here's my two-cents as a consumer on Kickstarter: It gave me the impression I was helping you personally, rather than giving money to a retailer (like Amazon). Even if I ended up not liking your book (which hasn't been the case), I still felt like I was helping a fellow writer. And there's the excitement of watching the pledges accumulate and make it to the point where we know it's a go. <3
Old fashioned is good!
I love these tried and tried different ways stories to success. Thank you Janisse!
Also, Harriet, the Internet has opened up a lot of new ways. There's a lot that's bad about a virtual life, but it has made lots of things better.
This post made me smile. It sounds like your dad and mine were cut from the same cloth. ❤️
Can’t wait for the book!
I'd like to hear more about YOUR dad!

Bootleggers unite!!!
Hey, two of your Portland fans were among the first three likes!
Thank you, Portland!!!
Love this strategy, love your trying kickstarter, and can't wait to get my copy of the book!
Yay. Thank you for this, Julia. Let's see how it works.
