Everyone is invited to zoom together tomorrow evening, May 7, 2024 at 7 pm Eastern US/Canada Time. This gathering is open to all subscribers. That means you are invited, and I’d love to see you.

I’ll do a short PowerPoint on making money with writing. Running time is about 30 minutes.

Then 5-10 minutes of Q&A.

The rest of the time will be a Listening Session. I’d like to hear how you’re doing these days in terms of work—what you’re enjoying, what you’re dealing with, what is frustrating you, what is overwhelming you, successes you’re enjoying, new plans.

Speaking for myself, I’m most interested in your gut feelings about the state of the writing world.

Depending on how many of us there are, we should each get at least a minute. I’ll keep time.

This Rhizosphere is one of the most safe spaces I’ve seen anywhere on the Internet. People are incredibly supportive & uplifting & kind. Here we want everybody to see their dreams come true. We know what it’s like to work hard to succeed, and we honor that when we see it. Here we know how far love can take us. This is a place we can really talk about what’s happening.

That said, remember not to talk about any ideas that you don’t want someone else to take. Ideas get taken all the time on the net. Sometimes people don’t even realize.

I Need to Ask You a Favor

By now, with all my nattering about it, you know that I’m close to wrapping up my long-in-coming manual on the craft of writing. I will be releasing it in June. But before I do, I would like to ask you a couple of questions.

Can you help me?

In the book I’m covering what I’ve learned about craft—about making a story come alive—and I’m also including the necessity of magic. I try to talk about that in a non-freaky way, how a person might access magic.

HOWEVER, I need your help. Before I finalize everything and send it off to the printer, I want to make sure I’ve covered things you’d like to see in a book like this.

Please, would you take a couple of minutes? Actually, there is really only one thing I want to ask. What are your two top questions about Writing and Magic that I absolutely need to cover in this book?
