Final 3 Hours to Sign Up for Journaling Together
5 Sunday Sessions start this evening 5-6 pm Eastern Time
We’ve been through a lot collectively this fall, which means we’ve been dealing individually with heavy burdens.
After the presidential election, Rebecca Solnit wrote an inspiring Facebook message that included the line, “The fact that we cannot save everything does not mean we cannot save anything and everything we can save is worth saving.”
Most of us have been engaged, our entire lives, in saving things. And we have to keep going. We have to get more dedicated to doing the right thing. We have to stick together.
For the past couple of years I’ve been guiding Sunday Sessions in journaling. I call it Journaling School. They are popular sessions. They’re 1 hour only, on the dot, on Sunday evenings, which is a time many of us are home. The Sunday Sessions are a dedicated space for a meditative writing practice. You get alone time with your creativity, your ideas, and your dreams.
They are usually a mini-series of 5 or 6 or 7 sessions with a theme. One starts this evening, 5 pm, and the theme is Journaling Our Way Forward. It goes for 5 sessions.
We’ll be looking at how we want to lend our hands to a better tomorrow—for ourselves, for our families, for our communities, and/or for the world. You can work on any scale you like, dreaming and thinking.
You’ll leave with
a bunch of short writing pieces
more clarity
some refocusing
new ways to draw in your journal (borders today!)
some important lists
most importantly, this time, a strategy for moving forward
hopefully some human connections.
This idea started when I read Seth Godin’s new book, This Is Strategy, which is all about quitting hope and starting to ACT and stopping letting someone else dictate where you go but starting to choose that yourself. Plus we’ll be looking at George Lakoff’s idea of empathy being the way forward politically. And how you gain momentum and traction.
Enough said. You have until about 4 p.m Eastern Time to register, and that’s through Eventbrite. There is a cost, but it can be as little as $1, because this series is by donation. You choose what you want to pay. One dollar is absolutely fine with me. I never look at what people pay or don’t pay. I want you there.
You will get a Zoom link that will be the link for all 5 sessions. You don’t have to attend them all. Attend one or all. They will be recorded.
Our session today starts at 5 and you’ll need your journal or some paper. A lot of us are doing it and I hope you join in.
The link to register is below.
Much love,
Janisse
Sad to be missing this one, I debated my capabilities of time management right now and realized I didn't have it...will catch the next one! I'm sure you have a wonderful group and everyone will learn so much! Happy writing, all!
The series is off to a great start! Tonight's session was inspiring, and juicy. If anyone hasn't signed up yet, I recommend it highly.
